10 Ways to Spend this Halloween πŸ’€πŸ‘»πŸŽƒπŸ

A Halloween post, (finally!) I’ve thought so much about what to write for this day and then just thought of the simplest but effective post that is,Β 10 ways to spend this Halloween. Enjoy!

Movie night:Β grab some movies, popcorn and some snacks along with your friends/family and enjoy some horrors instead of doing anything else and have a perfect, lazy night.

Host a Halloween party:Β Being the opposite to a movie night where almost zero effort is required, if you’re like me, you take pride and joy with having a halloween party. Any occasion to over decorate the place, bake Halloween-inspired treats (post coming soon) and dressing up!

Trick or Treating:Β This one had to be included, quite obviously. What we knew as kids was that trick or treating was the best thing ever. If you’re not feeling old enough yet, put on your best costume and have a eventful night full of treats. (or tricks, haha)

Pumpkin Carving:Β One of the most known traditions on Halloween is pumpkin carving. You can hold a contest or simply have a nice evening of emptying pumpkin guts, and then using them for baking! (roasted pumpkin seeds, pies, drinks etc..)

Halloween Baking:Β I definitely need to get a move on with my ideas if I’m going to be putting a treats post up soon! There is nothing quite like the smell of cinnamon, the taste of pumpkin and the taste of raw cake mixture you probably shouldn’t eat.

Spooky Sleepover:Β Okay, so you could do everything mentioned aboveΒ butΒ with scary stories and building forts to tell them in. Or, a complete spa night where the only thing scary is your face mask.

Camping:Β If not in your own home, go to a camping site or even your backyard where you can share stories, start a fire and sit around while heating marshmallows in true movie style.

Theme parks:Β What’s the best way to have a horror filled, adrenaline rushed night? Scary rides!

Autumnal wreath-making: Autumn doesn’t actually end when Halloween does.. (I know, shocking) and if you’re more the creative or artsy type, this is a nice thing to unwind with, -along with a glass of wine.. No one does things like this anymore, so I had to include this one!

Local events: apart from theme parks, there are many Halloween themed events such as spooky castle hunts, costume parties, ghost tours etc.. the choices are endless!

What do you wanna do this Halloween?Β πŸŽƒ

  1. I love anything Halloween related (with the exception of haunted houses where folks dress up as monsters and attempt to scare the living daylights out of you), so was immediately drawn to this post. It made me smile that many of the activities you outlined are ones that I put into practice annually around Halloween. Our Halloween themed “movie night” took place last week, where we watched some favourites, including: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, Coraline, and Beetlejuice. Thank you for sharing such a lovely post and reminder of how fun this time of year is! I hope you’ll do a Christmas themed one too, when December rolls around. πŸ™‚

  2. I make sure there is a small pumpkin on my kitchen windowsill, this year a white pumpkin is sitting on a foraged large maple leaf with some found pinecones (this vignette will take me right through to holiday decorating!)! Before the white pumpkin, my mason jar stood on the sill filled with tiny chocolate bars and before Hallowe’en comes & goes, I must buy a pack of red licorice! Thank you for this lovely, nostalgic post and welcome back!!
